My name is Austin Janos, and I am 17 years old. I joined Pack 88 of Clinton, MS, in 2013 at the age of 8. I have been an active member of both Pack 88 and Troop 88 for the last ten years. Joining Scouts at such a young age has significantly impacted my life in so many ways. I am blessed and honored to have advanced this far in my scouting career. As I am drawing near the end of my scouting career and seeking to achieve the Eagle Scout Rank, I cannot help but look back at all the memories and life skills that Scouting has provided me over the years. From attending summer camp as a young scout to having the opportunity to work at the same summer camp as a counselor, Scouting has helped shape me into the person I am today. It has taught me core values I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I have applied those core values to all aspects of my life, including my faith, family, academic, and career paths.

When deciding on my Eagle Scout project, I knew I wanted it to be something that served our community. After discussing several ideas, I decided on a Blessing Box. I have seen several Blessing Boxes over the years, and I have always thought they were such an awesome act of service. With the support of my Troop and First United Methodist Church, I installed a Blessing Box at the East entrance of FUMC next to the gymnasium. I look forward to this project being a great asset to the community of Clinton for anyone who needs it. I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support thus far.

At this time, I aspire to complete my Eagle Scout Rank and further my academic career. In the fall, I will attend Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, where I have already been accepted to the Diesel Technology program. I will also continue working part-time at an auto parts store. Scouting has provided me with many skills that have prepared me for my future career and helped guide me on my journey into adulthood.
Scouting has played an enormous role in my life and will always be one of my most cherished accomplishments. It has introduced me to lifelong friends, my future career, and life lessons that I will not soon forget. For that, scouting will always hold a special place in my heart. As I strive to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, I must say that it may be just another merit badge to put on a uniform but achieving the Rank of Eagle Scout and the meaning, values, and experiences that come with it make it more than worth the hard work and dedication it took to get to this point in my scouting career.

Take what you need, leave what you can, but above all, be blessed.
