SUNDAY GROUPS FALL 2019

All groups meet at 10am on Sunday mornings.

BEGINNINGS
FAMILY LIFE BUILDING, ROOM 106

While primarily a group for those who are 50 and older, married or single, working or retired, ALL ages are welcome. Creating community is an important aspect for the class and we seek opportunities to study the Word ofGod and find ways to share his messageoutside of the class. This class is very active in the life of our church and supports local and foreign missions.

THE DIFFERENTS
THE HUT

This class gives all ages and stages of life a place to connect and to grow spiritually. Our ages range from 35 to 85 and we are in different stages of our life journeys. We rotate leaders who introduce the lesson, but class members provide the discussions.

FAMILY LIFE
FAMILY LIFE BUILDING, ROOM 112

This group is made up of members in our mid-thirties and up. We are all in the midst of raising children from all ages and stages of life. We are deepening our relationship with each other and with Christ.

FELLOWSHIP
SANCTUARY PARLOR

Our class offers a place for ages 70+ to dig deep into God’s word together.

FAITH AND FELLOWSHIP
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 302

A class for people in their mid 30s to mid 50s, both couples and singles. Lesson times are generally short, ranging from 15-25 minutes with a few minutes of fellowship before and after to develop relationships and provide support to each other. Study materials are aimed at fostering Christian growth and enrichment for ourselves and our families. The class connects through periodic social activities and is geared toward supporting other ministries and activities of the church.

FOUNDATIONS
FAMILY LIFE BUILDING, ROOM 204

This group will be using the samecurriculum Confirmation students arestudying. The class is ideal for parents
of Confirmands, those new to faith, orthose new to the Methodist Church. The word “foundation” is defined as the ground on which other parts rest – like the roots of a tree or the base on which a house is built. Without a strong foundation, neither could withstand the storms that various seasons bring. Also without a strong spiritual foundation, you cannot withstand the storms of life that you may be facing – whether they arefinancial, emotional, or relational.

GOOD NEWS
FAMILY LIFE BUILDING, ROOM 102

A small, caring class of older adults most of whom are involved in ongoing church activities. Each Sunday our teacher presents a lesson from the Adult Bible Studies Sunday School book. This includes discussions of points of interest and words of wisdom offered by our members.

PATHFINDERS
FAMILY LIFE BUILDING, ROOM 210

A class for people in their mid 20s to mid 30s, hoping to start life’s path off right. Whether newly married or single, starting a new job or new family; all of us need support and encouragement. Together we’ll look at Biblical and practical studies on living, loving, and leading well in our homes and careers.

RASBERRY
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 215

Our class offers a place for ages 65+ to dig deep into God’s word together.

DISCOVERY
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 205

Our age range 40+, some of us have college-aged children, while others are enjoying grandchildren. In addition to Bible study and relationship building, we focus on navigating empty nesting and caring for aging parents.

REDWOODS
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 202

Come join the Redwoods where good discussion is a given. From CS Lewis’ Mere Christianity to various Bible and application-based studies, we vary our topics to keep ourselves on our toes and shift according to what will bring
us closer to Christ. We welcome you
to our small group where everyone’s opinion matters and we share our prayer requests and praises freely. Outside of class, we regularly meet for both service and fellowship activities. We invite you to discover where we got the name Redwoods and join us in reaching towards Christ.

UPPER ROOM
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 210

The Upper Room class has ages from twenties to retirement age and above; married couples and singles. We are a discussion-based group, usually taking a book of the Bible, but sometimes a topic such as the miracles performed by Jesus, or the Parables of Jesus. After reading the scripture and putting it into the proper context, we discuss what we read and how it relates to our lives and our faith journey with Christ.

WESLEY SEEKERS
EDUCATION BUILDING, ROOM 201

Wesley Seekers is a group of people ages 60 plus. Our members consist of married couples, singles, and widowed. We study the Adult Bible Studies

series and have three teachers who rotate teaching. We provide a mealevery month to the Billy BrumfieldHouse and also support families during Thanksgiving and Christmas. We lovingly support each other through the ups and downs of life as we maneuver through the Golden Years.
