Gratitude doesn’t just happen. If we want to have lives that are more thankful, peaceful, and joyful we have to take concrete steps in that direction. We have to plant before we harvest. As we draw closer to Thanksgiving, perhaps we can grow gratitude in our lives.

Theme: Joy is more than a feeling, it is a way of life. (Which is good because we don’t always feel joyful). The Psalm reminds us that true Joy is rooted in praise, worship, singing, and blessing God. If we want to be joyful we need to spend time with God.

Psalm 100

All Lands Summoned to Praise God

A Psalm of thanksgiving.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come into his presence with singing.

Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he that made us, and we are his;[a]
    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise.
    Give thanks to him, bless his name.

For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.
