Gratitude doesn’t just happen. If we want to have lives that are more thankful, peaceful, and joyful we have to take concrete steps in that direction. We have to plant before we harvest. As we draw closer to Thanksgiving, perhaps we can grow gratitude in our lives.

Theme: We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses; saints who have gone before us who are cheering us on as we run our race. We are invited to make our commitment to the future, as those saints from the past did for us.

Hebrews 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
