MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Dear Friends,

I want to share with you the bittersweet news of several upcoming departures from our staff team. Our Weekday Director, Jamie Steadman; Youth Minister, Hunter Lacefield; and College Director, Marti May, will each be leaving the staff this spring.

I say bittersweet, because each of them are beloved members of our staff, having provided tremendous ministry over the past several years, and we are sad to lose them. And yet, they have each made these decisions to prioritize their families. When I first joined the staff as senior pastor, I told our staff that I expected them to prioritize their own spiritual life, their family, and then their jobs (in that order!). And each of these servants have done just that.

Marti May will soon be sending off her oldest to college, and has decided to focus on her younger children still at home (and soon to all be teenagers!!). She and her family will continue to be active members of our church family and she looks forward to volunteering in various areas. She will conclude her time on staff at the end of the college semester this April.

Jamie Steadman has provided significant leadership for our Weekday Program during the pandemic and we are grateful for all that she has done. The Steadman’s family business has thankfully rebounded after the pandemic, and with four active boys from preschool to high school, she feels called to the ministry of full time mom and supporting their business. She will conclude her time on staff at the end of May.

Hunter Lacefield has made the important decision to move back to Senatobia so that he and AC can raise their son closer to their families. Hunter came to the staff as a fresh college grad, and leaves as a husband, father, and faithful minister. We will miss this sweet family but know that God will continue to do great things in and through their lives. Hunter will continue on staff through the end of May.

We will soon begin the search for these open positions. In the meantime, please join me in expressions of gratitude to these servants and prayers for each of them during this time of transition.

Grace and Peace,
Ricky
