Hey Friends,

This week the Mississippi Annual Conference will meet in Tupelo, July 13 through 15. Delegates from every United Methodist church in Mississippi will meet to review our conference’s mission and ministry, approve the coming year’s budget, ordain and commission new ministers, and celebrate those who are retiring.

This is our first fully in person Annual Conference since 2019, so I’m excited to see some old friends and colleagues. This will also be the last regular session with Bishop James Swanson, who has served us for 10 years. Thank you for those who have donated to the special offering to the Methodist Children’s Home on his behalf.

I would like to ask you to begin to be in prayer now for our Annual Conference gathering and for the lay delegates from our church, Sarah Shaw and Bob Gorman. Pray that we
might be guided by the Holy Spirit to make wise decisions in order to fulfill the mission
of The United Methodist Church: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation
of the world.

See you Sunday,
