MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Hey Friends,

I can’t believe that July is almost over! The summer is flying by (even if it seems the heat will never let up). We are planning for a great fall here at the church, and I wanted to be sure you had a couple of important dates coming up quickly in August.

August 7th will be our promotion Sunday as we “graduate” our kids into their next Sunday School levels. You may have also “heard through the grapevine” that we are moving some Sunday School classes around. We are excited about creating some dedicated space for our Kids Ministries, working to renovate some of our Youth Space, and relocating some of our adult classes to be more closely located to our worship spaces. This will be a multiple step process so, as they say, please “pardon our progress” over the next few weeks.

August 10 will mark the beginning of our Wednesday Night Meals and Discipleship Programs. We have heard such great feedback from our recent potluck dinner, that we are going to try something new this fall. We will incorporate a monthly church-wide Wednesday night potluck. And we will kick off Wednesday nights with a Potluck on August 10th. We’ll provide chicken, rolls, and drinks- you bring your favorite side, salad, casserole, or dessert! The rest of the Wednesdays during the month our dedicated cook teams will deliver their famous meals!

On August 7 and August 14 we will have Acolyte Training at 8:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Kids in 2nd grade through 6th Grade who would like to become an Acolyte for the Traditional Service. Please email [email protected], if your kids are interested in becoming, or continuing as, an acolyte this fall!

August 14- Youth United Night launches for the fall as we welcome our new Youth Director, Nick Flatt!

August 21- we will present our 3rd Graders their own Bibles as they take an important step in their faith walk with Jesus!

Whew, that’s just in August! More details on these and many more opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks. But I hope you enjoy these last few weeks of summer and look forward to a great fall here at church!

Grace and Peace,
Ricky
