MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Hey Friends,

It was good to be back in worship this past Sunday after being out on vacation. (Although any of you with young kids know, you don’t take vacations…you take trips!) It was good to be away, but I’m a creature of routine.

Routines help me to stay grounded, focused, and in control (especially when all of life around us seems out of control).

One of my most important routines in my morning Bible time. I’ve shared this with you before, but I listen to the Bible in One Year app, put out by Nicky Gumbel, the founder of the Alpha Course. It has a daily reading from the Psalms, Old Testament, New Testament, and a brief reflection on the text. You can read it, or have it read to you, and it takes about 25 minutes. (Also perfect for those of you traveling throughout the summer)

Starting my day in God’s word (before I check Facebook or listen to the news) gives me comfort and reframes my entire day.

If you’re looking for a new routine, I’d suggest something like the Bible in One Year app, or at the very least, starting your day in quiet reflection with God. It really can change your whole day!

See you Sunday,
Ricky
