MESSAGE FROM RICKY

Dear Friends,

This week the Mississippi Annual Conference convenes for its yearly meeting. The Annual Conference is the organizing body for the United Methodist Church in Mississippi. Every year it meets to review activities, share mission successes, approve budgets, and celebrate new and retiring clergy. It’s normally held in downtown Jackson, but this year it’s all virtual. Our lay delegates are Bob Gorman and Sarah Shaw, along with Denise DeRossette who serves as our District Lay Leader. I invite you to pray this week for our delegates and for the work of the Conference.

This coming Sunday we have some special worship planned. Our own

Rev. Charles Pope will be preaching in the 9am service, I’ll be preaching our 10am online service, and our 11am service will be a dedicated time of praise and worship. I’m grateful to share in ministry with such a talented and committed worship team.

Finally, I hope you are planning on joining us for our next Wednesday night family fellowship dinner on July 7th. The meal is complimentary, but we invite you to bring donations for the Shower Power (see listing below for suggestions) . That night we will be treated to music and comedy from our special guests, the Brick Street Barbershop Quartet! I hope to see you there!

Grace and Peace,

Ricky
