MESSAGE FROM RICKY
Dear Friends,
I appreciate all the prayers last week as I dealt with Covid. It was no fun! I’m on the mend just in time to join in the celebration of Vacation Bible School!
Growing up I loved VBS! It was a great way to hear stories from the Bible, meet new friends, and even learn some new dance moves! I’m grateful to our staff and volunteers who have given of their time to help our kids encounter the Good News of Jesus. It may just look like fun and games from the outside, but these experiences will have lasting impact in these kids lives.
One story that I remember often from church as a child was the story of Jonah and the Whale! We often think of this as merely a “kid’s tale,” but it is a tremendously important insight into the mind and heart of God. This coming Sunday, we’re beginning a short series on the Book of Jonah. We’ll look at this classic tale of a runaway, a big Whale, and what happens when you try to ignore God’s call.
Also, since it’s the summer, feel free to dress more comfortably and casually for worship!
