Dear Friends,
This coming week is one of those beautifully busy weeks in the life of our church! We are beginning the holy season of Lent, a 40 day period of preparation for the celebration of Easter. It starts on Wednesday, with our observance of ashes, a sign of our mortality and repentance. Be sure to scroll down to see the various opportunities you have to join us for Ash Wednesday.
On Saturday our gym will once again be filled with hundreds of players and families for our Upward Basketball games. We are so excited to have brought back community kids basketball in Clinton. We’ve had lots of church members step up and help make it a success!
On Sunday, during the 9 a.m. service we will observe Scouting Ministries Sunday. We encourage all participants of any scouting units to wear their uniforms to church. We will have scouts participating in the service, and hear a word from our Cub Scout Pack and BSA Troop leaders. We might even hear about a harrowing adventure our scouts had at their campout this past weekend!!
Then, at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Life Building we will have our Ministry Fair. We want everyone to come and enjoy a time of fellowship and learning as various ministry groups will have tables for you sign up! There will also be breakfast food!! So, I hope you make plans to join us.
As we continue to look ahead to all that God has in store for us, I’m grateful to be in ministry with you all! Thanks for all that you do to make our church a community Centered on God and Focused on Others.
