BIG THANKS – By Dianne Alford

Many thanks to all who volunteered your time a couple weeks ago cleaning the campus grounds. This event could not have been a success without the help of those who volunteered their time and those who made donations. Much was accomplished by cleaning out flower beds, gutters and cutting down overgrown bushes/trees. Thank you, Mike & Wayne for cooking burgers and hotdogs for the work crew at lunch.

Please thank the members listed below for their hard work and giving up a Saturday to make our church grounds beautiful for Holy Week.

Volunteers: Chip Alford, Wayne Carson, Alan Chambers, Barbara Gibbons, Mike McGuffie, Scott Street, Jack Sullivan, Jacque & Jerry Tharp, JT Thornton, and Barbara Trott.

Also, a big thanks to Dru Luckett for donating bottle water for the workers, Ray Miller for the use of his utility trailer and Mike McGuffie & JT Thornton for donating pine straw.

It was a great day of hard work and fellowship.

There will be another cleanup day in April and we need your help! With the drought this past summer, we have some dead shrubbery needing to be pulled out of the flower beds. Keep your eyes open for the upcoming date!

Kids Ministry work day was a huge success! Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we now have a work room in the family life building for our Sunday school teachers and assistants!

The weekday preschool children got to see the fire truck and learn about fire safety. The fireman dressed in full turn out gear so they would know not to be afraid. They also learned, “Stop, drop, and roll,” and “Get low and go.”

Mission Trip

We are planning a mission trip to Nicaragua from June 24 until July 1. The main projects for the trip will be to help build a Methodist church and to facilitate a free eye clinic near the community of Leon. Depending on the makeup of our mission team, we may also put on a VBS as well. Youth mission team members will need to have completed high school or be accompanied by an approved guardian. If you would be interested in going or being involved and would like more information, please call Bob Jackson, 601-668-4836 or Mike Norcom, 769-243-4983.
