Sermon Series: A Fish Tale
The story of “Jonah and the Whale” is often just left to the safe confines of kid’s Sunday School. (Which is odd because it’s the story of a man who’s told that God will destroy the city, runs away from home, and then is eaten by a big fish!) But this story isn’t just kid stuff. It’s a story about repentance, about what happens when we resist God’s call, and about who actually deserves God’s mercy.

Jonah’s Anger
4 But this was very displeasing to Jonah, and he became angry. 2 He prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord! Is not this what I said while I was still in my own country? That is why I fled to Tarshish at the beginning, for I knew that you are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from punishment.
