MESSAGE FROM RICKY
Dear Friends,
I just wanted to brag on the church just a little bit this week. This past Saturday was our last Upward Basketball game of the season. The goal of this ministry is to provide a positive environment for kids to learn and develop the fundamentals of basketball while also providing an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus.
For the past 8 weeks, every Saturday, our gym has been filled with more that 120 players (plus their families). It’s been noisy, chaotic, and a lot of fun. We had a great group of volunteer coaches who gave their time and passion every week.
This ministry would only be possible because of the generosity of our church and the willingness to let our campus facilities be open to all. This often requires staff and volunteers to be flexible, moving tables and chairs, and quickly turning things around for other events.
But to see the smiles on the kids faces, the pride among parents and grandparents, and to hear the countless “thank you’s” from members of our community for bringing back youth basketball to Clinton, makes it all worth it.
This is what it looks like to be a church that exists for others, not just ourselves, and committed to providing multiple opportunities to reach our community with the Good News that Jesus loves them! Let’s keep up this good work!
